(edited) 🇨🇴 Medellín, Colombia
I've been in El Poblado 3 months and I'm planning my move. Spent the last 4 weeks walking around Laureles and Envigado and here's my real take:
El Poblado: amenities are amazing, English everywhere, you'll never feel "in Colombia" exactly — feels like an expat island. Pricey. Loud at night.
Laureles: greener, quieter, less English, way more "actually living here" energy. Cheaper. Walking everywhere is easy. Cafés are great.
Envigado: even quieter, more family vibe, harder if you don't have a car/moto and don't speak Spanish. Cheapest of the three.
Going Laureles. Tell me I'm wrong.
El Poblado could be noisy and touristy specially near Provenza. But El Poblado is big. There are places where it is more calm. But most of the places are hilly with the exception of area close to metro
